We have to carry out a test before hair colouring services to check for any allergic reactions that may occur from the dye. This is very important as it allows us to put the clients safety first. If you don't have a test prior to a colouring service we will not be able to colour your hair.
As this is such a necessary test we have come up with two test options for you to choose from!
1) ColourStart Passport (MHRA Approved Method)
NOT YET AVAILABLE
Please register on the Colourstart website by clicking here and create your passport. Answer the screening questions, buy here and apply your Colourstart Patch. Upload your results to your online passport. Share your results with your Route 51 – (we are registered with Colourstart). Once you have created your passport and completed your first test, subsequent colour treatments require you to answer the screening questions – testing with a Colourstart test may not be necessary unless something changes. Your Colourstart Passport will confidentially store your records. If you have any questions please speak to your stylist.
2) AAT (Allergy Alert Test)
This test will need to be carried our before every single colour service. Make an appointment to attend the salon at least 48 hours before your appointment. We will apply a small amount of colour formula to the inside of your elbow or behind your ear. Leave for 48 hours, should you experience any signs of irritation, reddening, swelling, inflammation or itching please contact us. If you develop symptoms that make you unwell please contact a medical professional. When you attend the salon we will observe the test site and ask you to complete a questionnaire. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation to deliver you with the safest experience when you visit us at Route 51.
